Not sure if anyone heard (or cares) about this but the company known as Allied Specialty Vehicles, now called REV group which owns E-one fire apparatus and Road Rescue ambulance also owns McCoy Miller (formily a Spartan affiliate) and now owns Ferrara Fire Apparatus as of this year. While ferrara is currently independent, could we seem them merge with E-one? Somewhat interesting for the major fire buffs out there.

Another tidbit on REV, they also own all of KME, from the fire division to industrial division.
Heard about this a while back, and I'm not too sure of what to think about this. I'm still glad that the three main fire apparatus (KME, E-ONE, and Ferrara) are still distinct, however, it wouldn't surprise me if they merged down the road. Interesting tidbit: most of the FDNY apparatus except for the Seagrave Scopes, HP pumpers, tillers, and a few special ops vehicles are now from the REV group. This also includes ambulances. I also heard that KME would be doing the new rescues.
I know right, not sure how to really feel about it. You can see with the ambulance manufactures they are starting to develop the same designs on their units so I wouldn’t be surprised to see the fire side move that way. Yeah, the bidding process must have loosened up for more manufactures to better compete, or Seagrave is stepping out of the FDNY business. I’ve heard FDNY and mainly the city is very difficult with the requirements of their contracts and Seagrave could no longer handle the stringent demands from the city, not sure how true it is though.
