That 7wide spartan is hands down the best way to do it. Very good looking rig already.
  2. here are some standalone renders. I am having a lot of fun with some new found settings lol.

  4. @Rescue 423You were right, 5 story was a good idea. looks perfect! I think this is the final build. Thanks guys for all the suggestions! no idea what is going on with the yellow bricks in this render but it looks cool anyway. I have a few more on the way!

I really like these renders from the perspective of a minifig!

      Thanks guys!

@Joshua BThanks! After discovering the Field of View adjustment, I have been trying to make better minifig-eye-view renders...this one (minus the weird lighting/coloring) is one of my favorites. Little sneak peak of the new rescue too lol

  5. I like them both so much 😂

Just go with 3 tan floors lol

       Josh

Have not tried that one yet! I just don't want the modular buildings to feel out of place ya know?

  6. Theoretically the change to the mirrors would be pretty easy, even if you don't raise it up.
  7. I agree, I have since changed it back lol
  8. I am so excited for these projects...this is Main Street all completed with light up streetlamps and some vehicles!

All of those things will definitely be added! Studio does not have the crosswalks and I don't like building signs/traffic lights in studio, its too finicky for that.

    3. Joshua B

      Joshua B

This is a minor detail, but when u build it IRL, the road stripes shouldn’t run through the intersection. Looks great!

       Josh

      Oh good point. Thanks!

  9. Both tan and white look good. White is cheaper which is making me lean towards it a bit more.

Compared to the rest of downtown.....I think I may need to knock out 1 or 2 floors 😂 A building this size would fit great in the North District though.

Here is the short version. It fits the skyline much better and is what I will do. I am also going to work with tan a little more because building it short reduces the cost.

      Joshua B

Yep, if your OK spending the money I’d say it’s worth it to do tan and 4 floors

    4. Josh

       Josh

I was playing around with it and decided to go with the tan! Cost was really the only thing keeping me from doing it, but I realized I could just order bulk and use my current collection to keep the price down. It definitely looks better in the layout too. Tan is the winner!

  10. Any ideas on what color to use for these top floors? I'm thinking white will look the best but I am not sure. Oh, and full interior or just the facade? image.thumb.png.fac7ac7f0b596e4e7945865c2a724d3b.png

    1. Joshua B

      Joshua B

Full interior is always best, but with the cost in mind I would skip it. Tan outdoor look best IMO.

    2. Rescue 423

      Rescue 423

I agree with what Joshua said lol

    3. Josh

       Josh

Yeah, interior is pricey lol. IRL I would probably just put a piece of black construction paper behind the windows, keep it looking nice without the full interior. Thanks for the color suggestions. I'll see how it looks!

  11. Here is the first floor of the new dunkin/apartments. Birch tree, bench, and lamp post outside, and a full featured interior for dunkin.

Looks good! Alas, the interior could use some filth/decals.

    2. Josh

       Josh

Decals and smaller details will be done IRL! Not to worry!

  12. Love the colors on this. Looks awesome!
  13. Needed some inspiration for a corner dunkin to put on main street, so I did some hunting...low and behold, found one in downtown Boston! Got the simple yet noticeable Boston style of architecture. This is gonna be a fun build I think! I would also like to stop and appreciate the fact there is not a spec of trash on this street.

       Josh

Its happens, its just fun community building humor lol. Any ideas on what color of brick would look best for the canopy around the outside of the store?

Edit: decided to use black instead of brown. It looks better and costs less.

I was so tired last night I look forward to going thru the site and spotting all of my stupid mistakes. But the definitely? yeah that's definitely a facepalm

  14. Pretty cool idea! have you figured out how to do a curve yet?

Looks cool. You should add a grocery store so your citizens can get food. And since your basing it off of Boston don't forget a dunking donuts🤣

Thanks guys, and don't worry there WILL be a dunkin and a grocery store XD

I also need to save up for a few more modular buildings.

  20. Main street render with maps of the new setup! some changes suggested by @Joshua B have been implemented and they look great!

I would have but that big gray spot is station 1, and I want the stations as far apart from each other as possible. So I would but 🤷

  23. Hey gang, Decided to do a quick mockup of the south district in STUDIO...  All the building locations have yet to be determined, just threw them in as a test run. Station 2 can be seen in the top right, Station 1 would be down at the bottom left, however I don't have a digital file for it. The render is the new Engine 135 returning to quarters.

Oh rats I forgot the pic 🤦‍♂️ You could do it that way too, but I was thinking the upper of the two green roads you marked goes bye bye, and the road parallel to the one you marked red should move over to the left.

    3. Josh

       Josh

No worries, I drafted this one up real fast: 17 spaces for 32x32 buildings as apposed to the other which had 15 (and took up a bit more space). Also, the residential buildings here are place holders, I doubt that is what will be there in the final build. It will be residential, doubt it will be those 3 exactly.

    4. Joshua B

      Joshua B

If you go that route, then the short road next to the fire station needs to go, and the road in front of the residential buildings needs to be extended to match the one parallel to it. It's all about being uniform, imagine that this is just a small piece of a larger city full of uniform blocks of the same shape and size and go from there.
