  1. My face when you hear a large call go out over the scanner, so close to your house that you can hear the sirens, and you have nothing to do so you hop on your bike and head over there but when you arrive you check the area and all you get to photograph is 1 unit leaving the scene (non-emergent): Still good to get some exercise but a disappointing result.

  2. Thanks for the compliment. Cranes on our heavy rescues were usually reserved for the larger city departments as they have had a bigger budget, but when our fire departments merged from local to county level, and all budgets were combined, we got the financial capability to purchase some much needed upgrades to the fleet. Our old Iveco heavy rescue (3rd pic) was bought back in 1989 when its sole duty was responding to MVA's, through the years it got many more tasks like animal rescue, HAZMAT, more types of entrapments, MCI etc. Also our response area's grew as several volunteer crews

  3. Just want to update on things. I should be back to building in a few weeks. This weekend I'm helping my grandma all weekend. Next week is my last week of school and then next weekend I leave for Idaho for a week to visit family. So it'll be about 2 weeks til I get back to building but I have some stuff planned.

  4. Those are some neat rigs! Would I be correct in assuming that the first and second pictures are the current one you guys run? Very cool truck... may try my hand at a Lego version someday.

  5. I enjoyed this story, great ending! I found it interesting that your heavy rescues have cranes on them...that is something that is very rare here in the states. Usually if a crane is needed, a local heavy rescue company is called to the scene because they have better training in that field.
