My name is Ed O. I'm from New York, and have been building fire trucks since 2011 or 2012, but I didn't start posting it anywhere until 2014. Currently I have 4 departments. Three are in the planning stage and my main department is in the rebuild phase. I was an explorer for nearly 4 years, but am currently working on leaving the Explorer program and applying to the Department itself to become a firefighter.
I've had my fair share of issues within the LFC. When I first started joining groups and sites in the LFC, I was eager to prove myself (something even I knew back then you can't do in real life because you'd get your *** kicked) and often started various arguments about a myriad of topics. So yeah, I was a bit of a keyboard warrior. However, I've matured a bit.
I pride myself on building the most accurate and sturdiest rigs I possibly can. If something doesn't look like it should, or if I feel a rig is too flimsy, I will halt production to find out how to improve the design. I may miss a few things here and there when designing on LDD, but it's kind of odd - it's almost like a truck is exponentially more visible in real life and mistakes are much easier to see. I can't quite explain it.
Through this blog, I hope to pass on knowledge, building techniques, and all sorts of things along to newer members. See you in the first blog?
